Harrisons Hits Historic $1M Milestone for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ
At Harrisons, we have always believed that a home is more than just four walls and a roof. It is about the families who fill them, the spaces where memories are made, and the wider New Zealand community that wraps around us all.
That’s why we are incredibly proud to share a truly monumental milestone that our wonderful customers and dedicated family network across New Zealand have made possible. We have officially rolled over an incredible milestone:
Over One Million dollars raised for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ
What started back in 2008 as a simple idea when Patrick Harrison first approached the Foundation - to create a special pink flooring underlay and donate $1 from every roll sold, has grown into a profound, company-wide movement.
Seventeen years later, that single product has extended across our entire group to include Harrisons Flooring, Harrisons Curtains & Blinds and Harrisons Solar.
Today, as a Kiwi family business with deep community roots, we proudly donate a minimum of $100,000 every single year to fund life-saving research, education, and medical support programmes.
More Than a Dollar Figure: Impacting Real Kiwi Communities
While October is internationally recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, May holds a very special significance here in New Zealand. With the annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign and community fundraising initiatives in May, it is the perfect time to celebrate what we’ve achieved together.
But as we look at this million-dollar milestone, the true impact goes far beyond the numbers. It is about the community side of Harrisons and the real lives touched across the country:
In Your Living Rooms:
Our local business owners visit thousands of Kiwi homes every year. In living rooms across the country, they chat with clients about our partnership, often raising awareness and reaching communities that might not otherwise engage with vital health messaging.
Deeply Personal Support:
Sometimes, our mission to support the community becomes hit-the-ground personal. When a Waikato family was facing the heavy reality of breast cancer, our local Harrisons North team showed up directly to install brand-new flooring and help spruce up the family's home.
A Shared Story:
Like so many families all over New Zealand, breast cancer hits incredibly close to home for us. Many of our staff and franchise owners have been personally touched by it - it is woven into who we are.
As Immanuela Pfeiffenberger, one of our dedicated Harrisons Business Owners, beautifully explains:
"Supporting Breast Cancer Foundation NZ isn't just something we do once a year, it's part of who we are as a local business... Our customers really connect with it. You can see the moment they realize this isn't just another sales call. We genuinely care."
How Every Home Transformation Connects to the Cause
This milestone was built home by home, choice by choice, by everyday Kiwis upgrading their living spaces. With every purchase of:
- Harrisons Flooring - Dunlop Pink Underlay
- Harrisons Curtains & Blinds - The Urban Curtain Collection
- Harrisons Solar - AIKO Panels or Tesla Powerwall
In the Autumn 2026 edition of the Breast Cancer Foundation’s Pink Ribbon Press, Chief Executive Ah-Leen Rayner shared a generous feature thanking Harrisons for our enduring partnership.
To celebrate this, members of our own Auckland team recently laced up their sneakers to participate in the Pink Ribbon Walk, bringing our shared commitment out into the community!

The real thanks belongs to you, our incredible customers who welcome us into your homes, and our hard-working teams on the road and in our call centres. Thank you for partnering with us to reach this historic milestone.
Please take a moment to look at what we have accomplished together for New Zealand, and join us in feeling incredibly proud of what we can achieve when a community comes together.
